Its location and views. The comfort of the room and bed
The reception staff were lacking in personality and warmth in their welcome and again on departure were efficient but lacking in personality. The evening meal was a bit disappointing in that the meat (lamb) was overcooked and sauce had probably sat under hot lamps for too long. The television remote didn't work and the tv cabinet unit had to be moved to use the ironing board. Breakfast choice was limited, no mushrooms, no continental ingredients.
I liked the location of the hotel..very easy to acess. the pool was a bonus.Food was very good and the lounge/library just nice to relax in.
We had booked a non smoking room , however on arrival in our room there wasa very strong smell of smoke. We were offered a change but we had unpacked and declined....a wrong decision as our clothes on coming home smelled of smoke as well. The staff did spray air freshener on one occasion.. I had to use my pperfume at other times to disguise the smell.
Nice surroundings and close to both seaside and mountains and has good access to the highway.
The rooms are very poorly sound insulated. The restaurant food although good food value is rather limited in selection for those staying more than a night or two.
The Staff were great and even though we had arrived late and missed our dinner booking (the kitchens had closed at 9.30pm), they were very helpful in providing info for a takeaway delivery from the local town. The location is second to none, it is within easy driving distance from the city centre and is just off the M11 motorway but feels like you are right in the middle of the rolling hills and valleys of the country side. The views are fabolous.
The kitchen closes an 9.30pm after which all you can get is a sandwhich from the bar until Breakfast!! Also there seemed to have been a fault with the hot water heating as there was no hot water for showers the morning we were there - I am sure this was a one off occurance though.
The hotel was fantastic. I was there for a wedding and the staff could not do enough for us. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the reception we received was brilliant. I would highly recommend this hotel to all my family and friends.
Ease of access and parking with facilities for walking the dog. Good accomodation, food and facilities and near to where I wanted to be.
Pets not allowed.
swimmingpool and breakfast
close to motorway (noise) rooms not on 4* level, no minibar, outside spa broken, restaurant atmosphere cool
Location was excellent. All staff were very nice & helpful. Leisure centre was very good. Restaurant in evening was excellent
Bed in room 224 was very uncomfortable. Back pain from it - both my wife and I. Breakfeast was poor
We really enjoyed our stay at the Glenview Hotel. The location was perfect not too far from dublin but still felt like you were out in the countryside. The food was good and the leisure facilities were good if a little overcrowded with children at times.
It did feel a little pricey at times considering there are a lot of good deals on hotels out there at the moment.
The location. The hotel had easy access into Dublin and surrounding countryside.
The hotel is quite dated and tired and would benefit from a refurbishment. The family room for four was small. At the time we stayed there were noisy families running around the corridors after midnight. This was despite polite notices asking clients to respect others who are staying in the hotel. Hotel staff could have aked the families to be more repsectful and think of others who are trying to get some sleep. The hotel management could have asked clients who ate breakfast in the restaurant in their pyjamas to dress appropriately! The hotel has a large pool. The drawback was the need to buy a swimming hat at three euros each before we could swim. The pool had a high content if chlorine that hurt our eyes after a while.
The setting was lovely and the meal in the bar/lounge was very good.
The hotel was shabby in places and our the bathroom in our room was very poor. Service was hit or miss!
The decor and general ambience of the hotel, combined with the facilities and, in particular, the efficient and exceptionally helpful and friendly staff made for a most pleasant stay.
The Woodlands Restaurant was not available for Dinner service although the Conservatory menu was a reasonable substitute; the dessert menu though would require to be much more inventive to justify even considering the options.
We liked the friendly atmosphere, the gym and pool and the lovely location.
just a small issue, our room had a humm from the air conditioning which my wife was sensitive to,but on mentioning it to staff they moved us to another room no problem.
Great value for money, excellent offer and a great location.
Everthing was perfect.
We enjoyed our stay and our son came along with us - good parking, very clean bedroom and lovely breakfast we ate in both restaurants the food was good although in the ground floor restaurant I had to send my club sandwich back as the bacon was too salty however this was not a problem and I was treated very well indeeed the other two meals were very good - would definitely recommend and would of course stay again - we have previously been with you on five or six occasions
No I have nothing I would like to add to my comments above
